Street portraiture is one of my favorite photography genre – going up to complete strangers and asking them to pose for the camera. All I ask of my subjects is to move a few feet from where they are to get a clean background, be comfortable, and most importantly be themselves.
Here, I asked the father if I can take a picture of him and his baby, but I think he misunderstood me, and lifted up the baby away from his chest maybe to make sure I get a clear photo of his baby by herself.
His face says it all. A proud father.
I was shooting high school sports portraits earlier today at work, and as me and my coworkers were setting gear in front of the school, this street scene happened in front of me.
I had a Nikon DSLR inches away from my trigger finger, but I could not use it for this shot – being it is a company camera and all. Again, my trusty Iphone came in to play. I just could not walk away from capturing this moment.
I used the default Iphone camera app, processed the image in Adobe Lightroom (converted to black and white), and added the border.
